Free enterprise center faculty

Bob ArnoldDr. Robert A. Arnold became a faculty member at Thomas More in 1995. He holds a Juris Doctorate from Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law, an additional doctorate with a concentration in Sports Marketing from Union Institute, a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University, and a Bachelor of Science in Food Technology from the University of Kentucky.

In addition to his role as a full-time professor, Dr. Arnold maintains a successful law practice which has been in existence for over twenty years. This practice focuses on business formation and contract litigation, estate and probate, and sports and entertainment law. Dr. Arnold’s experience in business began in sales management and later transitioned into roles managing food brands for three different organizations. Recognizing the need for more intensive athletic training facilities in the Northern Kentucky community, Dr. Arnold built Next Level Academy, a practice and training facility in Wilder, Ky. He serves as a Board Member at Brighton Center Properties, Buenger Boys and Girls Club, and the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Regional Youth Committee. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and a graduate of Leadership Northern Kentucky.


Dr. E. Anne BusseDr. E. Anne Busse joined the faculty of Thomas More in 1994. She holds a doctorate from Argosy University Graduate School of Business and Management, a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Loyola University in Chicago. Her career spans over 25 years in sales and marketing for the Drackett Company, formerly a division of Bristol-Myers Squibb Company and a manufacturer of leading consumer cleaning products which include Windex, Drano, and Renuzit air fresheners. Her passions include marketing and educating students.

In addition to her role as an associate professor, Dr. Busse is a part-time business manager responsible for accounting finance and human resources at Anza, Inc. This local industrial design firm provides rapid prototyping, design, and modeling services to entrepreneurs and business leaders seeking to develop and market innovative products. Dr. Busse is committed to helping students and businesses in her community succeed, and is an active member on the Board of the Directors for the Brighton Center, a non-profit agency focused on creating opportunities for individuals and families to reach self-sufficiency.


Dr. Frederick ChenDr. Frederick Chen has been teaching at Thomas More since 1993. He earned his doctorate in industrial engineering from the University of Cincinnati, holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance from the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Throughout his career, Dr. Chen has had numerous publications in the areas of continuous process improvement and quality management. He founded and continues to co-lead a multimillion-dollar firm called Master Communications, Inc., located in Cincinnati, Ohio. This company focuses on distributing education and cultural materials nationwide and is known to many teachers under the brand names Asia for Kids and Culture for Kids. As a business leader for the organization, Dr. Chen’s responsibilities include accounting, finance and operations, networks, technology and systems. In 2017, he started another company in the area of property management and business development. Throughout his career, Dr. Chen has served on many committees within the college and in the outside community. Most recently, he served as Secretary and Board Member for the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce.


Dr. Angela CrawfordDr. Angela Crawford came to Thomas More in 2016 as an assistant professor and was recently named the founding Dean of the College of Business Administration. When asked about this new role, Dr. Crawford states, “I am excited about the opportunity to work with such a dedicated group of people who are focused on helping students find and ignite their passion for changing the world.” Dr. Crawford earned her doctorate from Case Western Reserve University, Master of Business Administration from Cleveland State University, and Bachelor of Business Administration with dual majors in Marketing and Management from the University of Cincinnati.

Throughout her 25-year career, Dr. Crawford has focused on building organizations to achieve growth through leveraging available resources and bringing out the best in people. Her career began as a management trainee at Fifth Third Bank. She moved up the ranks in the financial services industry achieving the role of Senior Vice-President at Citi. To achieve her desire to teach and help others, she continued her education while also consulting across the globe; helping organizations discover insights into how they can improve their employee and customer experiences to achieve growth. Dr. Crawford teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of strategy, innovation, marketing, and management. Her research focuses across disciplines on the topic of igniting passion within people. In the outside community, she serves as a hospice volunteer for Bluegrass Care Navigators.


Dr. R. Steven FlynnDr. R. Steven Flynn has been teaching accounting at Thomas More since 1994. He has a doctorate in accounting, with a focus in economics and statistics from the University of Cincinnati, along with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Dr. Flynn is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Dr. Flynn has published his research extensively across the fields of accounting, finance, economics, and management in journals such as the Journal of Academy of Business and Economics, Journal of International Business and Economics, Universal Journal of Accounting and Finance and the International Journal of Business Research to name just a few. He has served his community professionally as chief editor of International Journal of Applied Accounting and Finance and as a reviewer for many other publications. His service to excellence in teaching has been recognized both internally and externally. Dr. Flynn was named by Cincy Magazine in 2012 as one of 30 Outstanding College Educators in the Greater Cincinnati area. He was also the recipient of the 2011 Full-time Outstanding Teacher Award from Thomas More College and named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers for three consecutive years.


John D. (Jack) Rudnick, Jr.Dr. John D. (Jack) Rudnick, Jr. began his tenure at Thomas More in 2002. He holds a Doctorate of Education from Argosy University (Sarasota, FL), a Master of Healthcare Administration from the George Washington University (Washington, DC), and a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from Providence College (Providence, RI).

Dr. Rudnick has served in leadership for over 35 years beginning his career as a healthcare administrator in the United States Navy Medical Service Corps in Charleston, SC, and as a Physician/Medical Programs Recruiter in Philadelphia, PA. He was the Chief Operating Officer for a large specialty medical group practice and ambulatory surgery center in Northern Kentucky and also served as an administrator for long-term care facilities, directed a school-based health center initiative; and served as a vice president for large healthcare systems. A Boston native, Dr. Rudnick is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has published numerous professional articles and two books in management and healthcare; and has developed coursework in comparative health systems relative to the United States, United Kingdom, and Ireland where he taught students abroad several times. Dr. Rudnick currently is a Board Member for Covington Latin School and completed recent full- terms with the Diocese of Covington, Catholic Charities, and the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati-Campbell and Boone counties.
